The life of Lucille Ball is vividly depicted in the made-for-television movie “Lucy.” Director Glenn Jordan and teleplay writers Katie Ford and T. S. Cook put together an entertaining biopic which starred Rachel York and Danny Pino as Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. The pair did capture their basic personalities, even their voices to some extent.
Co-stars include Anne Dowd as Lucy’s mother, Chris Brougham as her brother Fred Ball, Merv Smith as Grandpa Hunt, LaChanze as her housekeeper, Rebecca Hobbs as Vivian Vance, Russell Newman as Bill Frawley, Andrew Mitchell as Bob Carroll Jr., Theresa Healey as Madelyn Pugh, Lachlan MacDonald as Jess Oppenheimer, Ian Mune as Buster Keaton, Vanessa Kaye as Carol Lombard, Mark Clare as Red Skelton, Charles Unwin as Clark Gable, Priscilla Bonnet as Bette Davis, and Olivia Tennet as Lucie Arnaz.
Everyone loves the watchable and entertaining “Lucy” from Storyline Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television. It first aired on CBS on May 4, 2003.
