My Review

Producer and star Sylvester Stallone has found yet another film to keep his “Rocky” legacy alive, this time in movie number eight in the series, “Creed II.” This picture is a direct sequel to “Creed” of 2015, continuing the story of Adonis Creed, the son of boxer Apollo Creed.

Though “Creed II” has a predictable plot and storyline, it is solidly directed by Steven Caple Jr. (“The Land” 2016) and leanly written by Juel Taylor and Stallone. This product from Stallone and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer is quite watchable, a fast moving 130 minute motion picture.

The cast hired by Sly includes Michael B. Jordan in the title role. Jordan is one of Hollywood’s leading young talents. Others in “Creed II” includes Tessa Thompson, Dolph Lundgren, Florian Munteanu, Phylicia Rashad, Bridgett Nielsen, Wood Harris, Russell Hornsby, Andre Ward, and Milo Ventimiglia reprising his role as Rocky’s son from “Rocky Balboa” (2006). Celebs playing themselves in cameos include Linda Cohn, Evander Holyfield, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Michael “Let’s get ready to rumble” Buffer.
