My Review

”Mississippi Burning” is a crime drama about two FBI agents investigating disappearance of three agents in a rural county in Mississippi in 1964. Director Alan Parker did an amazing job in creating this engrossing thriller based on a true story. The outstanding screenplay was written by Chris Gerolmo.

Gene Hackman and William Dafoe delivered marvelous performances. Co-stars include Frances McDormand, Brad Dourif, R. Lee Emery, Gailard Sartain, Michael Rooker, and Tobin Bell. “Mississippi Burning” was popular at the box office for Orion Pictures. It won a single Academy Award for Best Cinematography (Peter Biziou).
