My Review

“Suburbicon” is a comedy film about a family in an American suburb in 1959 who face problems of all sorts, including a home invasion, troubles with family and friends, and a black family moving in next door. Director George Clooney (“The Ides of March” 2011) put together a black comedy which is almost incomprehensible and very difficult to follow. Sloppy directing and a very poorly written script by Joel Coen, Ethan Coen, Grant Heslov, and Clooney are the culprits. This film is a disorganized mess!

The stars of the show deliver mediocre performances, including Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, Noah Jupe, Oscar Isaac, Glenn Fleshler, Alex Hassell, Gary Basaraba, Jack Conley, and James Handy as Mayor Billings. The unwatchable nonsense “Suburbicon” was a flop at the box office for producer George Clooney, Dark Castle Entertainment, Black Bear Pictures, Smokehouse Pictures, Silver Pictures, Bloom Media, Huahua Media, and Paramount Pictures.
