“Rampage” is a ridiculous action movie about some giant animals going on a rampage across America and causing havoc wherever they go. The film is based on a video game series, and does not translate well to the big screen, with poor direction and production by Brad Peyton (“San Andreas” 2015) and a terrible screenplay written by Ryan Engle, Carlton Cuse, Ryan J. Condal, and Adam Sztykiel.
The cast seemed to show up only for a paycheck – Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jake Lacy, Joe Manganiello, et al. No great performances in this Warner Bros. product that had limited success in theatrical release.
