“A Quiet Place” is an interesting science fiction film about a family trying to evade aliens who have taken over earth. The aliens are blind, and can only detect others by sound. They try to kill everyone they com into contact with, presenting a challenge to the parents and their three children, who live underground.
Actors John Krasinski and Emily Blunt play the couple and are also married in real life. Their personal chemistry seems to translate to the big screen. The three children are well played by Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, and Cade Woodward. Krasinski also performed adeptly as director, and co-wrote the screenplay with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck, both of who originated the story.
This watchable and scary motion picture from Paramount Pictures was a success at the box office and with critics. “A Quiet Place” has some of the elements of old fashioned horror movies without the violence and gore of recent years in this genre.
