One of the high quality films of 2018 is “Black Panther.” This movie based on Marvel Comics character T’Challa was blessed with great writing, excellent action sequences, outstanding performances, and superb direction by Ryan Coogler (“Creed” 2015), who also co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole.
“Black Panther” is Marvel Studio’s first movie with a predominantly black cast, with the story set in the fictional African nation of Wakanda. The stars include Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther and Michael B. Jordon as the villan Killmonger, as well as Lupita Nyongo, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, and Forest Witaker. Also appearing are Andy Serkis as gangster Ulysses Klaue and English actor Martin Freeman as a CIA agent.
“Black Panther” is fun and watchable big screen entertainment from Marvel Studios and The Walt Disney Company.
