My Review

Pure Flix Entertainment has produced one of its best faith-based films yet. Director Bruce MacDonald and screenwriters Jason Baumgardner, Zach Smith, Timothy Ratajczak, and Galen Gilbert managed to make a movie about the story of Samson that is accurate to the Biblical text from the book of Judges and also has nearly two hours of action-adventure and an interesting plot line.

MacDonald, who also serves as one of the producers with Pure Flix founder David A. R. White, assembled a good cast for this Biblical epic. Taylor James, who had a small, uncredited role in “Justice League” (2017), played a convincing Samson, a Nazarite with super-human strength and one of the judges of Israel with a roving eye.

Other actors include Jackson Rathbone, Frances Sholto-Douglas, Greg Kriek, and Caitlin Leahy as Delilah. Sone veteran actors featured in “Samson” include Billy Zane as King Balak of the Philistine nation and Rutger Hauer (“Blade Runner” 1982) and Lindsay Wagner (“The Bionic Woman” 1976-1978) as Samson’s parents.
