“Run the Race” is an inspiring faith-based movie telling the story of two teenage brothers actively involved in high school athletics who must also cope with their mother’s death and their father’s subsequent desertion of the family. They are living with their grandmother.
Director Chris Dowling (“Where Hope Grows” 2014) also co-wrote the screenplay with Jake McEntire (one of the producers) and Jason Baumgardner. He kept the movie running on an even keel as the film is easy to follow, holds the audience’s attention, and flows smoothly for the full 101 minutes.
Good performances by the actors are evident, with Tanner Stine and Evan Hefer as the brothers, Kristoffer Polaha as their father, veteran Frances Fisher as their grandmother, Kelsey Reinhardt, Mario Van Peebles, and Mykelti Williamson.
The watchable “Run the Race” is good Christian drama from executive producer Tim Tebow, Reserve Entertainment, and Roadside Attractions.
