My Review

“The Kitchen” tells the story of three wives of Irish Mob hoods who must take over crime operations when their husbands are imprisoned. This film is marked by poor character development, an uneven plot, bad acting, and a sluggish storyline. Credit goes to director-screenwriter Andrea Berloff, who makes her motion picture debut here.

The three lead actors do not do much to help this lame movie. Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elizabeth Moss seem out of energy and out of focus in their performances. The supporting cast includes Domhnall Gleeson, Brian d’Arcy James, James Badge Dale, Jeremy Bobb, Bill Camp, Margo Martindale, Common, E. J. Bonilla, and Annabella Sciorra.

Avoid what’s cooking and stay out of “The Kitchen” with this box office bomb from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures.
