“Dead Bang” is crime drama movie about a Los Angeles County Sheriff special detective investigating the death of a police officer when he stumbles upon evidence that white supremacist militia groups are involved. The heavy drama proceeds from there, well constructed by director John Frankenheimer (“The Manchurian Candidate” 1962) from an excellent script by Robert Foster.
The cast is headed by Don Johnson, in the prime of his career at the end of his involvement in the hit NBC series “Miami Vice” (1984-1989). The talented supporting cast includes Penelope Ann Miller, William Forsythe, Bob Balaban, Tim Reid, Tate Donovan, Michael Jeter, Antoni Stutz, Mickey Jones, William Traylor, Hy Anzell, and Brad Sullivan. The very watchable and entertaining “Dead Bang” was a flop at the box office for Lorimar Film Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures.
