My Review

The talents of Peter Sellers are on full display in “The Mouse That Roared.” He played three roles in this satirical comedy about a small European country whose only export, a special wine, begins to be produced in California, and their economy collapses. They declare war on the United States, and the hilarity proceeds from there.

Co-starring with Peter Sellers are Jean Seberg, Leo McKern, David Kossof, MacDonald Parke, Austin Willis, Monte Landis, and William Hartnell, four years before he went on to television superstardom as the original “Doctor Who.” Director Jack Arnold was effective at the helm of “The Mouse That Roared,” a success in theatrical release for Highroad Productions and Columbia Pictures.
