My Review

The comedy of Jerry Lewis is running on all cylinders in “Cinderfella.” In this different adaptation of the Cinderella story, Lewis does his usual zany comedic scenes along with singing and dancing. Director-screenwriter Frank Tashlin helped Lewis by keeping the film on track with high production values. The results were loads of laughs.

Co-stars include Anna Maria Alberghetti, Judith Anderson, Ed Wynn, Henry Silver, Robert Hutton, and Count Basie and his Orchestra providing classy musical numbers, especially in the scene where Jerry Lewis dances down the staircase.

Exterior shots were filmed at the Chartwell Mansion in Bel-Air, California, soon to be famous as the home of the CBS sitcom “The Beverly Hillbillies” (1962-1971). “Cinderfella” was popular in theatrical release for producer Jerry Lewis and Paramount Pictures.
