Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures pulled out all the stops in concluding the Avengers movie series which began in 2012, with sequels in 2015 and 2018. Directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo (“You, Me and Dupree” 2006) did their jobs with the precision and grace of orchestra conductors, bringing together at least two dozen superheroes and scores of other actors from the previous twenty one films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Great writing from Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, based on Stan Lee’s characters. Major stars include Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Mark Ruffalo (David Banner), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Benedict Wong, Bradley Cooper, Jon Favreau, Josh Brolin, and Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts.
One of the most expensive films ever made at $356 million, “Avengers: Endgame” has earned close to $3 billion at the global box office; good news for Disney shareholders. The three hours and one minute motion picture flew by rapidly, an extremely watchable 22nd film in Disney’s MCU.
