My Review

“No Man Is an Island” is the true story of U. S. Navy radioman George Tweed who evaded capture by occupying Japanese troops for two years and seven months on the island of Guam during World War II. Jeffrey Hunter stars in the lead role in this riveting drama from directors-screenwriters Richard Goldstone and John Monks Jr.

Tweed received help from the local Chamorros residents of Guam, but due to filming in the Philippines, the local actors spoke Tagalog instead of Chamorros. Some of the cast includes Barbara Perez, Ronald Remy, Vicente Liwanag, Lamberto V. Avellana, and Chichay. American actors includes Marshall Thompson, Paul Edwards Jr., Rolf Bayer, and Fred Harris II. “No Man Is an Island” was produced by Richard Goldstone and John Monks for Gold Coast Productions and Universal Pictures.
