The creative talents of director Alfred Hitchcock seem to reach the heights in “The Birds.” He skillfully turned benign creatures such as birds in a pet shop at the beginning of the film into some of the scariest villains in cinematic history.
Credit also goes to screenwriter Evan Hunter, who adapted the movie from a 1952 short story by Daphne du Maurier. Honorable mentions go to George Tomasini for his outstanding editing and to Edith Head for costumes. The very watchable “The Birds” was a big hit in theaters for producer Alfred Hitchcock, Alfred J.
