My Review

Cary Grant made his final motion picture appearance in the 1966 comedy “Walk, Don’t Run.” He still had much of his old charm and charisma in this story of a man renting a room from a younger woman in Tokyo for the 1964 Olympics. He in turn sublets his room to someone else. The humor and comical situations are good enough to hold the audience’s attention for the nearly two hour running time, thanks to crisp direction by Charles Walters (“Easter Parade” 1948) and a great screenplay by Sol Saks and Garson Kanin.

Cary Grant’s co-stars include Samantha Eggar, Jim Hutton, George Takai, John Standing, Miko Taka, Ted Hartley, Ben Astar, Teru Shimada, Terry Farnsworth, and Lois Kiuchi. “Walk, Don’t Run” was successful in theatrical release for Sol C. Siegel Productions and Columbia Pictures. Cary Grant’s movie career started in a 1932 film called “This is the Night” from Paramount Pictures.
