“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” is the fourth in the series of “Bad Boy” motion pictures about detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett who this time are attempting to clear the name of their late captain, falsely accused of conspiracy. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence still have their old charm in this buddy picture, and it works despite the thin storyline and mediocre script.
Directors Adil & Bilall (Belgian filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah) also installed generous amounts of action sequences and explosion scenes to hold the audience’s attention. Co-stars include Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Nunez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Tiffany Haddish, Joe Pantoliano, John Salley, Rhea Seehorn, and Michael Bay in a cameo appearance as a Porsche driver.
The watchable “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” has been popular at the box office for producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Will Smith, Columbia Pictures, Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Westbrook Studios, 2.0 Entertainment, TSG Entertainment, and Sony Pictures Releasing. There is a possibility of a fifth film, depending on the success of “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.” The first three were released in 1995, 2003, and 2020.
