My Review

“Jurassic World Dominion” is a fitting conclusion to the six “Jurassic Park” movies that started in 1993. Director Colin Trevorrow (“Jurassic World” 2015), who co-wrote the screenplay with Emily Carmichael, has filled this 146 minute film with non-stop action and fabulous special effects that has made it a world box office phenomenon. The fast-moving storyline has the numerous dinosaurs living with humans around the world.

The major stars of the six films have returned for a family reunion of sorts. Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and BD Wong appeared in the three original “Jurassic Park” pictures of 1993, 1997, and 2001. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard were from the 2015, 2018, and this 2022 “Jurassic World” series. Omar Sy reprised his role from 2015, and Campbell Scott plays the diabolical Lewis Dodgson from the first “Jurassic Park,” portrayed by another actor.

Executive producer Steven Spielberg and producers Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley have given viewers so many different kinds of dinosaurs that they can be overwhelming at a few points in the movie. Cinematographer John Schwartzman took great advantage of the scenery at location shoots on the island of Malta, British Columbia, and in England, that contributed greatly to the film. There is a wonderful sound track composed by Michael Giacchino. The very watchable popcorn movie “Jurassic World Dominion” is two-and-a-half hours of pure fun and entertainment from Universal Pictures.
