Alfred Hitchcock certainly did not loose his magic touch late in his career. “Frenzy,” his second to last picture, is filled with action and every bit of his patented suspense. The outstanding screenplay by Anthony Shaffer tells the story of a serial killer in London who manages to implicate his crimes on an innocent man.
Hitch filmed this movie on location in England, with an all-star British cast, including Jon Finch, Alec McCowen, Barry Foster, Billie Whitelaw, Anna Massey, Bernard Cribbins, Barbara Leigh-Hunt, Gerald Sim, and Jean Marsh of “Upstairs, Downstairs” fame (1971-1975). The very watchable “Frenzy” is two hours of fun entertainment, a big hit at the box office for Universal Pictures and for the Master of Suspense himself, producer-director Alfred Hitchcock.
