My Review

“The Gatling Gun” is a western movie that tells the story of two soldiers deserting their post to steal a new Gatling (automatic fire) gun. They are pursued by a cavalry and the drama proceeds from there. And it is not very good drama due to sloppy directing by Robert Gordon and a terrible script by Mark Hanna and Joseph Van Winkle.

The cast of actors at least deliver acceptable performances, which includes Guy Stockwell, Robert Fuller, Barbara Luna, Woody Strode, Pat Buttram, Carlos Rivas, Phil Harris, Tommy Cook, Steve Conte, Kalai Strode, David Cargo (governor of New Mexico at the time), Patrick Wayne (son of John Wayne), and David Carradine as the Rev. Harper.

The film from Broadway Enterprises and Ellman Film Enterprises was a flop at the box office. It looks like “The Gatling Gun” has shot itself in the foot.
