“The Man from Toronto” is an action comedy film about a bumbling fitness trainer who gets confused with a professional assassin, known for vicious torture, when he accidentally goes to the wrong cabin at an Airbnb. Director Patrick Hughes (“The Expendables 3” 2014) assembled this humorous movie that puts comedy stars Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson together in the lead roles. While not the best comedy in history, and with a formulaic storyline, this film is nonetheless two hours of respectable escapist programming.
The supporting cast behind Hart (the fitness trainer) and Harrelson (the assassin) includes Ellen Barkin, Kaley Cuoco, Kate Drummond, Ronnie Rowe, Lela Loren, Pierson Fode, Tomohisa Yamashita, Oleg Taktarov, Jencarlos Canela, and Martin Roach as Marty. “The Man from Toronto” was released on Netflix, and produced by Bron Creative, Escape Artists, Sony Pictures, and Netflix, with the screenplay written by Robbie Fox and Chris Bremner.
