My Review

“A Few Good Men” is the story of the court-martial of two U. S. Marines charged with the murder of a fellow Marine and the problems of their attorneys as they prepare the defense case. Director Rob Reiner (“The Princess Bride” 1987) did an excellent job at the helm of this engrossing legal drama. The film has outstanding production values, great acting from big-name stars, and an excellent screenplay by Aaron Sorkin, who adapted it from his own 1989 Broadway play of the same name.

The cast includes Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon, Kevin Pollack, J. T. Walsh, Kiefer Sutherland, Noah Wylie, Cuba Gooding Jr., James Marshall, Wolfgang Bodison, J. A. Preston, Michael DeLorenzo, Xander Berkeley, Matt Craven, John M. Jackson, Christopher Guest, David Bowe, Joshua Malina, Harry Caesar, and Arthur Senzy.

“A Few Good Men” was a big hit at the box office for producer Rob Reiner, Castle Rock Entertainment, and Columbia Pictures. It was nominated for four Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Nicholson), Best Film Editing, and Best Sound Mixing.
