My Review

“Virus” is a science fiction movie that tell the story of a U. S. government-created virus that kills off most of the world’s population. This film from Japanese director Kinji Fukasuku has a good plot and decent acting, but had limited screenings in America and elsewhere, and therefore bombed at the box office. It was sold to cable television (at the time referred to as “pay tv”) and cut from the original 156 minutes to 108 minutes. It was later restored to the unedited 156 minutes on DVD.

The stars of the show include Masao Kusakari, Sonny Chiba, George Kennedy, Robert Vaughn, Olivia Hussey, Glenn Ford, Chuck Connors, Henry Silva, Bo Svenson, Isao Natsuyagi, Stuart Gillard, Cecil Linder, Chris Wiggins, Stephanie Faulkner, and Edward James Olmos. The watchable “Virus” was a production of Haruki Kadokawa Office and Toho Company Ltd.
