My Review

“Amazon Women on the Moon” is a satirical science fiction film that spoofs low-budget movies, especially ones that are on late night television. It is a collection of twenty-one comedy skits from five directors: John Landis, Peter Horton, Robert K. Weiss, Joe Dante, and Carl Gottlieb. The story, written by Michael Barrie and Jim Muholland, has fictional television station WIBD experiencing technical difficulties with its late night showing of “Amazon Women on the Moon.” An unseen viewer starts channel surfing – with hit and miss results.

The all-star cast includes Carrie Fisher, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Begley Jr., Kelly Preston, Joey Travolta, Steve Allen, Steve Forrest, Steve Guttenberg, Arsenio Hall, Ralph Bellamy, Rosanna Arquette, Lou Jacobi, Howard Hesseman, Henny Youngman, B. B. King, Peter Horton, Joe Pantoliano, Roxie Roker, David Allen Grier, Lyle Talbot, Sybil Danning, Henry Siva, Charlie Callas, Mike Mazurki, Robert Loggia, Ronnie Cox, Jenny Agutter, and Angel Tompkins.

The watchable “Amazon Women on the Moon” experienced less than stellar results at the box office for Hollywood Road Films and Universal Pictures.
