My Review

“The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning” is a terrible prequel to the really bad 2005 film “The Dukes of Hazzard.” The story in this made-for-tv movie tells of the early years of Daisy, Bo, and Luke Duke as teenagers in Hazzard County, with poor execution by director Robert Belinger and bad teleplay writing by Shane Morris.

The cast of mediocrity includes April Scott, Jonathan Bennett, and Randy Wayne as Daisy, Bo, and Luke, Chris McDonald as Boss Hogg, Harland Williams as Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane, Joel Moore as Cooter Davenport, Adam Shulman as Enos Strate, Sherilyn Fenn as Lulu Coltrane Hogg, and Willie Nelson as a trashy version of Uncle Jesse. Gary Cole was the voice of The Balladeer.

The forgettable “The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning” first aired on the ABC Family Channel on March 4, 2007.
