“Argylle” is a comedy spy action film about a successful author of spy novels who is drawn into the world of espionage after she realizes that her latest book mirrors real-life events around the globe. Bryce Dallas Howard fills the lead role quite capably, with her talent and charisma dominating the screen from start to finish. She had great direction by Matthew Vaughn (“The King’s Man” 2021) and a well-organized script written by Jason Fuchs.
The supporting cast is quite a stellar group that includes Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Henry Cavill, Sofia Boutella, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, Ariana DeBose, Dua Lipa, Rob Delaney, Jing Lusi, Richard E. Grant, and Ben Daniels. Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of Hollywood legend Ron Howard, has stacked out her own career in show business in this and other movies. The very watchable “Argylle” has been a big success of late in theatrical release for Apple Original Films, Marv Studios, Cloudy Productions, and Universal Pictures.
