“The Scalphunters” is an entertaining western comedy with an all-star cast, expertly directed by Sydney Pollack (“Out of Africa” 1985) and written by William W. Norton.
The cast includes Burt Lancaster, Shelley Winters, Telly Savalas, Ossie Davis, Dabney Coleman, Paul Picerni, Dan Vadis, Armando Sivestro, and Nick Cravat.
“The Scalphunters” had a wonderful musical score composed by Elmer Bernstein, and great cinematography by Richard Moore and Duke Callaghan. The watchable movie from United Artists was popular with movie-goers in 1968, no doubt at Saturday matinees.
