“Keeping Up with the Jones” is a predictable yet entertaining action comedy picture about a suburbanite couple who suspect that their new neighbors are government spies. Director Greg Mottola (“The Daytrippers” 1996) and screenwriter Michael LaSieur did a good job of putting together a family entertainment film here.
The talented cast includes Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher as the wide-eyed folks who are impressed with the sophisticated and worldly Jon Hamm and Gal Gadot. Perfect casting here! Other actors include Matt Walsh, Maribeth Monroe, Patton Oswalt, Kevin Dunn, Ari Shaffir.
“Keeping Up with the Joneses” did not have enough gas to make it in theatrical release, as it failed at the box office. However, this watchable Fox 2000 Pictures production and 20th Century Fox release is good for an evening’s viewing on dvd.
