Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin play two old friends who reconnect at the funeral of a mutual friend, where one of them vows to take revenge on the widower for the damage he did to her years earlier. Producer-director-screenwriter Paul Weitz (“Fatherhood” 2021) put together this very entertaining comedy-drama that was not a hit at the box office but is a watchable view on DVD.
The supporting cast includes Malcolm McDowell and Richard Roundtree, in his last movie appearance before his passing in 2023. His movie career took off in 1972 when he played the title role in “Shaft.” Other actors include Sarah Burns, Catherine Dent, Mo Zelof, Annie Korzen, Lauren Tom, and Haaz Sleiman.
