My Review

“Corky Romano” is a largely forgettable motion picture from director Rob Pritts and The Walt Disney Company’s Touchstone Pictures. This mafia comedy relies on ethnic stereotypes, a lame screenplay by David Garrett and Jason Ward, and goofy performances by former “Saturday Night Live” cast members.

Chris Kattan is an embarrassment in the title role, a veterinarian whose Mob relatives force him to infiltrate the FBI to steal evidence against his father, Francis “Pops” Romano, played by veteran television and film actor Peter Falk. He must have taken this role for the paycheck, or maybe for the exposure. Other thespians in “Corky Romano” are Peter Berg, Chris Penn, Richard Roundtree, Vinessa Shaw, Fred Ward, Zach Galifianakis, Roger Fan, and Vincent Pastore.
