“Strictly Sinatra” is an interesting independent British film about a young Scotish-Italian singer who dreams of hitting the big time. He has a difficult time advancing his career until he accepts help from local gangsters. Then the storyline get interesting and the fireworks begin.
Credit for a great little movie goes to director-screenwriter Peter Capaldi, the Scotish-Italian actor who later become best known for playing the twelfth Doctor in the “Doctor Who” television show (2013-2017). The cast includes Ian Hart, Kelly Macdonald, Brian Cox, Alun Armstrong, Tommy Flanagan, Iain Cuthbertson, Una McLean, and Richard E. Grant as himself.
“Strictly Sinatra” was not a big hit in theatrical release for DNA Films and Universal Pictures.
