My Review

“Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood” is a chick flick at its worst: A poorly written screenplay, bad acting, and a boring story about a group of women attempting to end a mother-daughter feud of one of their friends.

Director-screenwriter Callie Khouri scores low marks on all levels, despite the appearance of big names in her movie. They include Sandra Bullock, Ellen Burstyn, Fionnulla Flanagan, James Garner, Ashley Judd, Shirley Knight, Angus Macfadyen, Maggie Smith, Cherry Jones, Matthew Settle, David Rasche, and Gina McKee.

Although “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood” did have some success at the box office, it is in reality unwatchable drivel from producers Bonnie Bruckheimer and Bette Midler, Gaylord Films, and Warner Bros. Pictures.
