My Review

“Antitrust” is a techno thriller film about a young computer expert who lands a job at a big tech company headed by a famous Bill Gates type. Everything proceeds smoothly until he begins noticing some cracks in the company’s supposedly perfect facade. Director Peter Howitt (“Sliding Doors” 1998) created an exciting roller coaster ride of a motion picture that holds everyone’s attention for 109 minutes, from the extremely well-written screenplay by Howard Franklin.

Ryan Phillippe is perfect in the protagonist lead role, and Tim Robbins also delivers quite a performance as the company CEO with diabolical plans, an antagonist who is a counterweight to Phillippe. These are storylines we have seen in other films, but is enjoyable escapist programming in this movie. The supporting cast includes Claire Forlani, Rachael Lee Cook, Yee Jee Tso, Richard Roundtree, Douglas McFerran, Tygh Runyan, Ned Bellamy, and many others.

“Antitrust” did not do well at the box office for Industry Entertainment, Hyde Park Entertainment, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
