My Review

Producer-director-screenwriter Ron Shelton (“Bull Durham” 1988) put together a witty comedy called “Hollywood Homicide.” It is the humorous story of an LAPD homicide detective who moonlights as a real estate agent. The script that Shelton co-wrote with Robert Souza is full of laughs and funny situations.

Harrison Ford plays the lead role, with Josh Hartnett as his police partner. Good chemistry between the two. The large supporting cast includes Lena Olin, Bruce Greenwood, Isaiah Washington, Lolita Davidovich, Keith David, Master P, Dwight Yoakam, Martin Landau, Gladys Knight, Eric Idle, Lou Diamond Phillips, Smokey Robinson, Frank Sinatra Jr., Anthony Mackie, Alan Dale, James MacDonald, K. D. Aubert, Kurupt, and Meredith Scott Lynn.

“Hollywood Homicide” did not do well in theatrical release for Revolution Studios, Columbia Pictures, and Sony Pictures Releasing, but is a watchable view on DVD or streaming.
