My Review

“The Forgotten” is a terrible science fiction psychological thriller about a woman who lost her son in a plane crash, only to be informed by her husband one year later that he never existed. All physical evidence of her son has vanished. The thin storyline by screenwriter Gerald DiPego and mediocre direction by Joseph Rubin has made this a completely unbelievable film.

Julianne Moore and the cast do good jobs in the performance department, but does not help the movie’s believability. Co-stars include Dominic West, Christopher Kovaleski, Gary Sinise, Alfre Woodward, Anthony Edwards, Jessica Hecht, Ann Dowd, Tim Kang, and Linus Roache. “The Forgotten” did have some success at the box office for Revolution Studios, Columbia Pictures, and Sony Pictures Releasing. A better version to watch would be the 1944 film “Gaslight” starring Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman.
