A bad version of a moldy-oldy television series is brought to us courtesy of director John Schultz (“Like Mike” 2002) in “The Honeymooners.” Schultz and the screenwriters (Barry W. Blaustein, Danny Jacobsen, David Sheffield, Don Rhymer) give us sloppy direction from a mediocre script, with the lines delivered by lackluster performers.
The lead roles are horribly played by Cedric the Entertainer as Ralph Kramden, Mike Epps as Ed Norton, Gabrielle Union as Alice Kramden, and Regina Hall as Trixie Norton. The supporting cast includes Eric Stoltz, John Leguizamo, Jon Polito, Lenny Venito, Alice Drummond, Carol Woods, Doreen Keogh, Ajay Naidu, Kevin Corrigan.
The unwatchable “The Honeymooners” was a huge box office flop for Deep River Production, Friendly Films, and Paramount Pictures.
