Director Betty Thomas (“The Brady Bunch Movie” 1995) has brought us more light-weight entertainment in “John Tucker Must Die.” The screenplay by Jeff Lowell, which is at least easy to follow, and does provide some laughs in a PG-13 manner, tells the story of three young women out to get revenge on a high school jock for two-timing them, from when they all dated him. They enlist the aid of his current girl friend in their schemes.
The photogenic actors who star in this picture includes Jesse Metcalfe, Brittany Snow, Ashtani, Sophie Bush, Arielle Kebbel, Penn Badgley, Jenny McCarthy, Patricia Drake, Taylor Kitsch, Kevin McNulty, Megan Ory, Greg Cipes, and the Welsh alternative rock band People in Planes as themselves. The watchable “John Tucker Must Die” was a hit in theatrical release for Dune Entertainment and 20th Century Fox.
