“Lake City” is an excellent drama film about a mother and son reuniting years after a family tragedy separates them. Directors-screenwriters Hunter Hill and Perry Moore did an excellent job of character development and in the pacing of the movie.
The cast is headed by Sissy Spacek and Troy Garity (son of Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden), who give good performances and have great on-screen chemistry together. The supporting cast includes Rebecca Romijn, Keith Carradine, Jeff Wincott, Jason Davis, Colin Ford, Barry Corbin, Dave Matthews, and Drea de Matteo, whose claim to fame was her role as Adriana of TV’s “Sopranos.”
This very watchable independent production “Lake City” was not a success at the box office, but a wonderful view on DVD these days.
