My Review

“The World Without US” is an interesting documentary film exploring what might happen if the United States were to leave its role of international peacekeeper and become a totally isolationist nation as it was one hundred years ago.

Producers-directors Mitch Anderson and Jason J. Tomaric focus on several areas of the world where America’s presence has affected the local geo-political situation. It is clear that the U. S.’s influence in Europe and Japan after World War II and South Korea after the Korean War, have been beneficial to those regions. Also cited is Taiwan’s continued independence from China and the liberation of Kuwait from Saddam Hussein’s Iraq are positives for the peoples of the world.

However, what is not mentioned is the cost to the U. S. government and the American taxpayer, in lives and dollars, of maintaining a massive military presence on virtually every continent around the globe. This may not be sustainable over a long period of time. “The World Without US” is an 84-minute documentary Breakthrough Entertainment.
