My Review

“Teenagers from Outer Space” is a science fiction B-movie thriller about a young alien who abandons his space ship and crew from another planet. The aliens’ mission is to use human life on earth as a farm for giant lobsters they in turn use for food. Producer-director-screenwriter Tom Graeff instilled his film with the usual production values common in low-budget B-films, which includes less-than-polished performing skills by the actors. (Graeff also handled the editing, cinematography, and musical score.)

The cast includes mostly unknowns like David Love, Dawn Bender, Bryan Grant, Harvey B. Dunn, Tom Graeff, Jim MacGeorge, and King Moody, who would later go on to fame as Starker on television’s “Get Smart” (1965-1970) and as Ronald McDonald on the McDonald’s tv commercials (1969-1985).

“Teenagers from Outer Space” did have some moderate box office success, as Warner Bros. Pictures release the film in Saturday morning double features with “Gigantis the Fire Monster,” the latest Godzilla picture in 1959. In 1987, “Teenagers from Outer Space” entered the public domain in the U. S. as Warner Bros. did not renew its copyright registration.
