My Review

“Fast & Furious,” fourth in the series of movies that began with “The Fast and the Furious” in 2001, is, like its predecessors, heavy on action and slim on story line. The important factor to producer-star Vin Diesel is that this picture is a huge success at the box office, which it was, for Universal Pictures.

Our story has Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and a new team hijacking fuel tankers in the Dominican Republic. Meanwhile, FBI agent Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker) is busy tracking down drug dealers. The supporting cast behind Diesel and Walker includes Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, John Ortiz, Laz Alonso, Sung Kang, Ron Yuan, Tego Calderon, Don Omar, Shea Whigham, Liza Lapira, Jack Conley, Greg Cipes, Neil Brown Jr., Brandon T. Jackson, and Gal Gadot as Gisele Yashar.

Director Justin Lin (“Annapolis” 2006) and screenwriter Chris Morgan certainly keep the action coming, including the inevitable car races between Diesel and Walker. They do a good job of keeping the story moving “Fast & Furious.”
