My Review

Police chief Jesse Stone conducts his usual investigations of two murders simultaneously despite being suspended by the city council in “Jesse Stone: No Remorse.” This sixth in a series of nine made-for-tv movies keeps up the high quality of it predecessors, thanks to top-rate direction by Robert Harmon and a fantastic teleplay by Tom Selleck and Michael Brandman, the show’s executive producer and producer, respectively.

The star of the show is Tom Selleck, who continues in the role of the very human Stone, police chief of Paradise, Massachusetts. Other regulars include Kathy Baker, Kohl Sudduth, Stephen McHattie, William Sadler, Todd Hofley, Saul Rubinek, and William Devane as Dr. Dix, Jesse Stone’s psychiatrist and occasional drinking partner.

“Jesse Stone: No Remorse,” first broadcast on CBS in May, 2010, was adapted from the Jesse Stone novels by Robert B. Parker (1932-2010), whose passing that year prompted the dedication of the film to him.
