My Review

There is not a dull moment in “Unknown,” a mystery-thriller film starring Liam Neeson as an American traveling to Germany for a medical convention, accompanied by his wife. Upon arrival at their hotel, he discovers his briefcase is missing. So he takes a cab back to the airport to search for the all-important briefcase. Unfortunately, the cab goes over a bridge, crashes into a river, and the doctor wakes up in a hospital with memory loss, and the fun begins.

The fast but consistent pace of this nearly two hour thriller reveals a tight directing style by Jaume Collet-Serra (“House of Wax” 2005). And the well written screenplay by Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell has more twists and turns than a pretzel. “Unknown” was successful at the box office for Dark Castle Entertainment, Studio Babelsberg Motion Pictures, and Warner Bros. Pictures. Co-stars include Diane Kruger, January Jones, Aidan Quinn, Frank Langella, Bruno Ganz, and Sebastian Koch.
