Ethan Hunt and his team attempt to track down a terrorist who has acquired Russian nuclear launch codes, planning to strike America. The heavy spy drama proceeds from there with expert direction by Brad Bird (“The Incredibles” 2004) and a lean screenplay by Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec.
The supporting cast includes Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and Paula Patton as his team members, Michael Nyqvist as the aforementioned terrorist, Vladimir Mashkov, Lea Seydoux, Josh Holloway, and Tom Wilkinson, Ving Rhames, and Michelle Monaghan in uncredited roles.
