“Tower Heist” is a comedy-heist movie about a group of employees whose pensions and savings have been stolen from them by a Wall Street businessman. They hire a criminal, a bankrupt businessman, and a maid to break into his apartment to get their money back. The comedy and hijinks proceed from there. The film is smoothly directed by Brett Ratner (“Rush Hour” 1998) from a good screenplay by Ted Griffin and Jeff Nathanson. This is enough to create a watchable movie!
The cast is filled with recognizable actors that we have enjoyed for years: Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck, Alan Alda, Matthew Broderick, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Judd Hirsch, Tea Leoni, Michael Pena, Gabourney Sidibe, Nina Arianda, James Colby, Robert Downey Jr., Kate Upton, and Heavy D as a courthouse guard.
