Andrew Garfield has taken over the Spider-Man role in the reboot movie “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Director Marc Webb (“500 Days of Summer” 2009) and screenwriters James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent, and Steve Kloves have pretty much given us a new version of the same Peter Parker story. They have kept up the quality and it seems like a fresh new story somehow. They must know that Spider-Man is popular with the public and will pay money to attend the film if it is fun and watchable.
Andrew Garfield’s co-stars include Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHann, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Rhys Ifans, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and the ever-popular Sally Field as Aunt May Parker. Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee has a cameo appearance. The cast really does have good chemistry together.
“The Amazing Spider-Man” is a wonderful movie that was profitable at the box office for Marvel Studios, Columbia Pictures, and Sony Pictures.
