My Review

“Chernobyl Diaries” is a horror film about American and British young people touring eastern Europe when they stumble upon ruins of the Chernobyl nuclear plant. They disappear one by one, including their Ukrainian tour guide, until the viewer realizes they are being abducted by zombies, who are humans damaged by the radioactive fallout in the area.

Director Bradley Parker and producer-screenwriter Oren Peli filmed on a shoestring budget, which becomes apparent with the film’s lack of any basic production values, an inconsistent plot, a predictable storyline, boring dialogue, and bad acting. The largely unknown group of actors that make up the cast are not even worth mentioning.

After 86 minutes of viewing a cheap zombie picture, the viewer will begin to feel extremely radioactive. It is best to save money on the DVD and the Geiger counter and skip “Chernobyl Diaries” from Alcon Entertainment and FilmNation Entertainment.
