“Pacific Rim” is a fun science fiction story telling of many nations pooling their resources to battle monsters that are emerging from a portal on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. Producer-director Guillermo del Toro (“Hellboy” 2004) put together this fast-paced film that holds the viewers’ interest throughout the 132 minutes of screen time. Del Toro also co-wrote the screenplay with Travis Beacham.
The cast includes Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Rinko Kikuchi, Burn Gorman, Rob Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins Jr., and Diego Klattenhoff. Also starring in “Pacific Rim” are the excellent special effects, cinematography, and editing. This Warner Bros. Pictures film was successful in theatrical release.
