My Review

Robert Redford monopolizes the movie screen as he plays a man lost at sea in his damaged boat in “All is Lost.” There is very little dialogue (51 words) for the veteran actor whose character spends most of his time and efforts keeping his small craft afloat. Redford’s performance is nothing short of brilliant, with good direction by J. C. Chandor (“Margin Call” 2011), who also wrote the screenplay.

Robert Redford, who made his first movie appearance in 1960, is the only cast member in “All is Lost,” an engrossing and fast-moving 105 motion picture from Lionsgate and FilmNation Entertainment. It was nominated for one Academy Award for Best Sound Editing.
